Hosting Resources & Helpful Links

Welcome to our helpful resources for bloggers looking for website hosting help.

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is required for any website to be live online. If you have your own domain, you will need hosting for your domain name to be accessible online. On the other hand, if you do not have your own domain name, and instead use a blog host like Blogger (Blogspot), WordPress, or anything else, you will likely have to use a subdomain for your website. An example would be https://bestwebhostingforblogs.wordpress.com instead of bestwebhostingforbloggers.com. Notice the difference? One has a subdomain before the primary domain (wordpress.com), and the other is a full domain of its own.

How much should a blogger spend on hosting?

This depends on a variety of factors. If you are just getting started, simply paying for an affordable hosting account is likely enough. However, if you have a lot of traffic, you may want to upgrade so you can provide a positive user experience for your visitors. The last thing you want is for your website to load slowly.
